The main aim of the thesis work is to design, build using additive printing methods, and test a miniaturized pump for dosing fluids within Real-Time analysis Lab-on-Chip sensors for industrial IIoT applications.

The project is divided in several phases:
Definition of technical features, for example size/dimensions, electrical, temperature, and performance specifications that the micropump should have

Selection of BLDC motors to test

3D design of the pump body

Numerical simulation of the pump operation

Experimental testing and debugging

Installing the pump on a Lab-on-Chip system under working conditions representative of an industrial application.

The ideal candidate is a student of the Mechanical Engineering course who has an interest in mechanical design related to IIoT sensors.
Knowledge of 3D CAD design software

Knowledge of numerical simulation software

Good knowledge of the English language
