TITOLO: Micropump design and realization for IIoT sensors
The main aim of the thesis work is to design, build using additive printing methods, and test a miniaturized pump for dosing fluids within Real–Time analysis Lab–on–Chip sensors for industrial IIoT applications.
The project is divided in several phases:
- Definition of technical features, for example size/dimensions, electrical, temperature, and performance specifications that the micropump should have
- Selection of BLDC motors to test
- 3D design of the pump body
- Numerical simulation of the pump operation
- Experimental testing and debugging
- Installing the pump on a Lab-on-Chip system under working conditions representative of an industrial application.
The ideal candidate is a student of the Mechanical Engineering course who has an interest in mechanical design related to IIoT sensors.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD design software
- Knowledge of numerical simulation software
- Good knowledge of the English language
